What applies to recreational pilots, hobbyists, and standard drone operators in Sweden?

  • Maximum altitude is 120 meters AGL in uncontrolled airspace.
  • Dissemination permit (spridningstillstånd) from Lantmäteriet is legally required before publishing aerial photos or videos in Sweden.
  • Operations in CTR airspace and military firing ranges (Villingsberg, Ronneby, Luleå, Esrange) are prohibited in Open.
  • Strict prohibition around protected security installations (skyddsobjekt including the Royal Palace).
  • Operator registration with Transportstyrelsen.
Commercial filming or operating outside Open rules?
